The City of Moorhead Police Department is hosting the 13th Annual exhibition hockey game between a group of law enforcement officers and Moorhead youth players.
We are looking for players who would be interested in participating in this game. Each player will be provided a jersey and would get a chance to play against area law enforcement. Each player would provide their own equipment and they would be required to wear their full gear. This game is only for fun, and there will be no checking or slap shots allowed.
Admission to the game this year will again be FREE thanks to a donation from Moorhead Public Service. We will have several sports memorabilia items available for silent auction during the game as well as chuck-a-puck. Proceeds will benefit the Moorhead Youth Hockey program and the Moorhead Police Explorer program.
We will soon be accepting registration for this event. We think it would be a great experience for the kids to brag about beating a team of cops. As parents, you would have to sign the liability waiver to give consent for your child to play in this game. We will have medical staff on hand in case any injuries occur during the game (more for the cops than the kids).
Participation in this event is limited, so there will a random selection process if the number of registration forms exceeds the number of players allowed. We look forward to hearing from you and hope you are able to join us. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Officer Zach Johnson at 218-790-4128 or [email protected] .
